Franklin District's largest annual Art Exhibition. The Festival celebrates it's 21st year in 2010 with art in the following catorgories:
Painting Pottery Photography Woodturning Textiles Youth Sections
All pieces on display are available for sale - open to the public from September 4 - 12. The supreme award winning piece will be placed on Trademe auction website - post it to your favourites! Next door in the Art Gallery at Franklin: The Centre a display of original winning pieces are on display along with old memorbilia from the first Festival 21 years ago.

The Waiuku Film Expo is a non-profit event aimed at creating a digital media community within Franklin, by bringing together local film-makers and digital media artists and showcasing their work on the big screen for one night only in the historic Waiuku town Hall in November.
Submissions are now open - see your movie on the big screen.
All submissions will be considered, however as this is a family event any violence or sexual content will not be shown. Maximum running time for entries is 10 minutes, with no minimum.
Submissions close Friday 1 October 2010

Franklin Art Festival - 21 year Celebration
The Festival this year celebrates it's 21st year - and what a festival it will be. To all the artists, organisers of the festival, and the general public, Pukekohe will certainly come alive again in September.
Franklin Arts Festival is an annual celebration of visual arts held in Pukekohe, showcasing the work of talented artists from not only the Franklin District, but from all over New Zealand.
Established in 1989, the Festival has grown considerably in both size and popularity. Every year we are proud to host hundreds of works of art in a variety of mediums, created by practising artists from all walks of life. It is a true celebration of our diverse and vibrant creative communities. All works of art are for sale.

Waiuku New World Steelman Ironmaiden Festival of Multisport
The 5th Steelman Ironmaiden will be a 'festival of multisport' that will include a duathlon, run and childrens events.
The Waiuku Businesss Association and Castaways Adventure encourage businesses to enter the Corporate Teams Category to "put a team of four" to win the prizes.
School teams of 18 years and under are also encouraged to enter in teams of four to become the "top dog", together with a trophy. Spot prizes also up for grabs.
Individuals and teams of 2, 3 and 4 will contest the four disciplines of the 34k Cycle leg, 12k Kayak leg, 33k Mountain Bike leg, and 17k run leg.

September 14 - Candidates for the Franklin Ward ( 1 to be elected ). September 16 - Candidates for the Pukekohe subdivision of the Franklin Ward ( 4 to be elected).
The meetings will be held in the Pukekohe Town Hall.

The Franklin Positive Ageing Expo

The Franklin Positive Ageing Expo
Friday 1 October is the International Day of the older person and on that day, between 10am and 3pm, the Franklin Integration Project will be staging their 5th Positive Ageing Expo.
Emphasis for the day, everything is FREE. Free admission, free refreshments, free prize draws, free entertainment, and we may also be putting on free transport.
We will have around 100 services, groups and organisations present all eager to show what they have to offer older oeple living in Frankin.
